Ms. Kliem is a lifelong Victoria resident who currently practices law and is President of Kliem & Balusek. In addition, she holds a CPA certification and a mediator certification. She is a graduate of University of Houston-Victoria and South Texas College of Law. She is very active in the community and in various community organizations. Additionally, she is currently an officer, director or member of the Victoria County Bar Association, Victoria Professional Express Network, Victoria Chamber of Commerce, UHV Here We Go Committee and Hope Child Advocacy Center. She has served in the past on the CrimeStoppers of Victoria board, Victoria Estate Planning Council, National Association of Credit Managers, Northside Rotary Club and in local Victoria school organizations. She has been honored to receive several community awards including Small Business Person of the Year for the Southwest Boarder Region of the Small Business Development Center, Woman of the Year for VPEN three times, Top Ten Nominee for VPEN twice, Top Ten Business Woman of ABWA (National Award), 2020 American Business Woman (National Award), Small Business Partner of the Year by the Victoria Chamber of Commerce, and has been voted one of the top attorney’s in the Victoria Advocate’s best of the best competition for seven years in a row. Most recently she was recognized as a Rising Star for 2020 by Super Lawyers, a rating service of outstanding attorneys from 70+ practices of law. It uses evaluations of 12 indicators including peer recognition and professional achievements in legal practice. Being selected as a Rising Star is limited to a small number in each state.
Diane routinely speaks to various groups on leadership, public speaking, estate planning, probate and human resource topics. She has had articles published monthly in local magazines, has been featured in “Law School Essays that Made a Difference” by Princeton Press, has had quotes published in The Women’s Advantage calendar for several years and does regular blogs and articles posted to the Kliem & Balusek Facebook page and website.
